Become an AALHE Volunteer!
The AALHE volunteer community is an active group of assessment professionals who help improve and sustain AALHE. As a volunteer, you can make valuable professional connections, share your skills, and help AALHE continually improve by serving on an AALHE committee. Complete the AALHE Volunteer FormThe committee needs listed below indicate possible ways volunteers can support AALHE. These skills are not required to volunteer as there are many ways all members can contribute! AALHE Standing Committees 2022-2023Communications Committee: coordinate, develop, and disseminate information via AALHE social media accounts, Assess listserv, and our member newsletter to promote events and professional development opportunities on a regular basis. Conference Committee: coordinate the annual conference, including the following: solicit and review proposals, recommend keynote speakers, recruit and train session moderators, plan new attendee orientation and networking events, evaluate conference and use findings, and recommend future locations. Finance Committee: review financial data and prepare a budget; make financial policy recommendations. President's Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: promote diversity, equity, and inclusion among assessment practitioners and among the members of AALHE; provides recommendations on how to promote DEI in relation to all functions of the organization; and provides consultation to existing AALHE committees to support them as they integrate DEI principles into their work. Professional Development Committee: offer professional development opportunities outside the annual conference. Publications Committee: Coordinate and develop publications on student learning assessment for the advancement of knowledge. Review and edit manuscripts prior to publication. Recommend topics and promote articles or issues and call for proposals. Subcommittees 1) Intersection, 2) Emerging Dialogues, and 3) Conference Proceedings. Infrastructure Committee: ensures the continuity of AALHE operations by having a thorough understanding of AALHE’s policies and procedures and collecting, organizing, and making recommendations to the Executive Committee for AALHE policies. The Committee shall also coordinate the nominations and elections procedures for the Board of Directors and President Elect of the Association. Recruitment and Retention Committee: analyze membership data; recruit & retain members; annually survey members; make recommendations of the conditions under which membership is established and renewed; manage the placement of member volunteers. |
