AALHE Member Holiday Get-Together

The President's Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion would like to invite you to a holiday get together on Monday, Dec 21, 2020. The party will be live for two hours-- from 9 am PST/11 am CST/12 noon EST to 11 am PST/1 pm CST/2 pm EST. You can attend at your convenience anytime in those two hours and stay as long as you are able. People can come and go out of the meeting as they need to. This get-together is meant to be an opportunity for us to share our reality/lived experience/story/inspiration/etc. and connect with each other meaningfully over food and conversation as we shelter in place. With no in person meetings and opportunities to (re)connect, reenergize, and replenish because of Covid-19, we thought this forum would be a good opportunity to do so. Depending on what you all think, we may even continue these get-togethers into 2021 once every quarter or so.

Agenda for this time together:

Witness and be in community or go even further and share a talent, hobby, passion, story, dramatic reading, poem, or dance--i.e., basically anything/something of ourselves and a quick intention we have for 2021. For those who elect to share, the expectation is 3-5 minutes per person so that we have some time for everyone.
Again, this get-together is just an inclusive space to be in community. Some of us will be prepared to share, and others will only want to be witness--both are a-okay. Together, we bask in the brilliance that is each and every single one of us. If you do sign up to share and we don't get to everyone on the sheet, we will continue when we have our next get-together in 2021. We want to get to know each other beyond our professional persona and more on the human level. So, please mark your calendars and be there if you can.
