Monday, June 3rd: Service Impact & Community Outreach Opportunities

Backpacks for Students: Kit Build (two backpacks)

AALHE is providing you the opportunity to contribute to Portland through a service project to build backpacks for students, all materials are included with your payment. All materials will be provided at the hotel for assembling backpacks filled with school supplies with a heartfelt note from AALHE members, equipping students of various ages with essential tools and easing the pressure on schools to provide additional support.

4:00pm-5:00pm at the Conference Hotel, Room location to be announced.

"Books for Prisoners" Donation
No Registration Necessary. The only cost might be the books you purchase.

Kindly drop off any book(s) you wish to donate at the conference registration desk for the "Books for Prisoners" initiative. You can learn more about this initiative by clicking here.

Powell's Bookstore and Voodoo Doughnuts:
No Registration Necessary. The only cost is what you purchase.

Powell’s Bookstore is renowned as the largest independent bookstore in the world within walking distance of the hotel. Powell’s offers a wide selection of new, used, and rare books, occupying an entire city block! They have lots of weird books, in keeping with the city’s motto “KEEP PORTLAND WEIRD” in addition to out-of-print books that you can’t find anywhere else.  Head over, enjoy some bookstore perusing and don’t forget to buy a book for the prison outreach.
