Call for Proposals: AALHE 2027 Annual Conference

Advancing Assessment Through Inquiry, Evidence, and Practice

The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE) invites scholars, practitioners, faculty, institutional leaders, and assessment professionals to submit proposals for the AALHE 2027 Annual Conference, June 14–16, 2027, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. AALHE welcomes proposals that contribute to thoughtful dialogue about how assessment can advance student learning, inform educational practice, strengthen institutional effectiveness, and support meaningful change.

We invite proposals that:

  • Present original research, scholarship, or emerging findings related to assessment and learning in higher education
  • Examine innovative or evidence-informed approaches to assessing student learning
  • Explore the relationship between assessment practices, pedagogy, curriculum, and educational improvement
  • Address methodological, theoretical, or practical challenges in assessment
  • Share institutional or programmatic assessment initiatives and lessons learned
  • Examine how assessment evidence can inform decision-making at the course, program, department, or institutional level
  • Foster critical conversations about the purposes, uses, and consequences of assessment

Contribute to the field

We encourage proposals that move beyond reporting assessment activities to engage participants in inquiry and dialogue.
Whether you are presenting established research, sharing findings from an emerging project, examining a persistent challenge, or offering a new perspective on assessment practice, your contribution can help advance the collective knowledge and practice of our field.

Submit a proposal and contribute to the conversation shaping the future of assessment and learning in higher education.
