AALHE 2020 Conference Frequently Asked Questions

What's included with my AALHE 2020 registration?

All participants registered for the AALHE 2020 conference will have access to opening keynotes, receptions, breakout sessions, and special events at AALHE 2020 between Tuesday, June 9th, and Thursday, June 12th, 2020. These special events include the popular Conversations with Accreditors, the resource fair, and the new Grand Challenges in Assessment panel. Throughout each day, healthy snacks and coffee will be provided and multiple networking opportunities will be available as participants attend sessions with assessment colleagues from hundreds of higher education institutions around the nation and the world.

Is the AALHE 2020 Conference for members only?
AALHE 2020 is open to members and non-members. Non-members may register for the conference at the non-member rate of $550. For a full schedule of fees and discount codes, click here or visit aalhe.org/2020-registration.

Who attends the AALHE conference?
AALHE members and non-members from around the US and the world have attended AALHE conferences in the past, including assessment professionals and administrators from colleges and universities invested in strengthening assessment as a tool for learning in higher education.

What kind of sessions can I expect?
AALHE 2020 sessions will focus on one or more aspects of the following topics: Evaluating the Quality of Methodologies and Data Analyses, Engaging the Campus for Quality Assessment, and Designing Quality Assessment for Programs. For an example of the quality of scholarship these sessions maintain, AALHE 2019's sessions and events can be viewed by clicking here or visiting https://aalhe2019.sched.com/.

I am a sponsor and/or exhibitor. Can I attend concurrent sessions?
Some sponsor packages include full registrations for presenters and staff. Click here to view the sponsor prospectus or see aalhe.org/2020-exhibitors-and-sponsors for details on which sponsor packages include additional registrations.

What's the difference between the Pre-Conference Workshops and the AALHE 2020 Concurrent Sessions?
AALHE offers several workshop sessions on Monday, June 8th, that allow participants to work closely with higher education professionals with advanced assessment knowledge. These workshops are designed to provide specific, targeted instruction and skills building that participants can use in the field to inform their own assessment practices. This year, 2 full day and 6 half day workshops are being offered. See this page or visit aalhe.org/2020-conference-workshops for descriptions.

I saw something about "networking excursions." What are these?
AALHE understands that the conference environment is not just about professional development but personal development as well. For this reason, we offer one civic service opportunity and several evening excursions for participants to get out and stretch their legs. This year, in New Orleans, we have arranged several walking and bus tours, a cruise, and an afternoon service opportunity to create Living Kits for the Homeless. See this page or visit aalhe.org/2020-excursions for more information.

How can I register for AALHE 2020, the Pre-Conference Workshops and/or networking excursions?
Participants may register for AALHE 2020 and workshops, excursions, and service opportunities by clicking here or visiting aalhe.org/2020-registration. The workshops and excursions are limited, so participants are encouraged to register early. Members who register for the conference before April 10 receive an early bird discount. For a full schedule of fees and discount codes, click here or visit aalhe.org/2020-registration.

What if I register but can no longer attend?
We understand that schedule conflicts arise. Because the AALHE conference functions at-cost, registrations can only be transferred to another participant or donated to contribute to our Student volunteer opportunity and travel grant.

What are you doing about COVID-19?
