COVID-19 Updates and Information

As of April 2, 2020:

Because we hold the health and safety of our communities as our highest priority, we are actively investigating alternate formats for the conference should an in-person conference become impossible. Throughout this process we are actively monitoring the situation as it develops and communicating with members and the public via newseltters, email, and social media channels.

For resources and updates from accreditor organizations as well as additional resources to support the community during this time, please see https://www.aalhe.org/assessment-and-covid-19

Previous statements:

March 2020 - Currently, AALHE 2020 has not been cancelled or postponed; however, we are actively investigating alternate formats for the conference should the possibility of an in-person conference become impossible due to health concerns. We would like to convey that the health and safety of our members and the public are our priority.

The Board of Directors' letter on the COVID-19 situation has been sent to all members and affiliated non-members. This statement can be found by clicking here.

For information on the steps the city of New Orleans are taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19 can be found here: https://www.neworleans.com/coronavirus-preparedness-in-new-orleans/. Overall, the city is making efforts to “flatten the curve” by limiting public gatherings in restaurants, gyms, theaters, etc. While public gatherings are restricted, traveling is not as can be seen on MSY’s website and the CDC’s website: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/alert/coronavirus-global.

February 2020 - Many members of the assessment community have reached out about the COVID-19 impacts on our upcoming conference in June.  At this point in time, no changes have been made to our conference plans in New Orleans and the conference will commence as scheduled.

We will continue to follow CDC guidelines and closely monitor the situation. Members can be assured that we will provide updates frequently via our website, email, and social media platforms.

Should cancellation be necessary for the safety of our members, we will also explore offering a virtual conference and/or appropriate adjustments for those who have paid prior to the start of the conference. For this reason, we hope members and non-members will proceed as normal in securing travel funding before institutional deadlines expire.
