Collaboration empowers assessment practitioners, who may feel isolated in their own environment, to engage with existing assessment scholarship and begin to publish their work. This presentation will empower attendees to enhance their assessment scholarship via collaborations with faculty, students, and other assessment professionals. Presenters will share strategies for publication in Emerging Dialogues and Intersection: A Journal at the Intersection of Assessment and Learning. Key among these will be examples of how collaborations have been sparked - across regions, across levels of assessment, and even across international borders, to disseminate knowledge, innovation, and best practices in assessment.
This session, happening during National Assessment Week, is for both a faculty and administrative/staff audience, offering routes to engagement in scholarship in assessment as a consumer, creator, and curator (i.e., reviewer) of this work. This session will appeal to mid-, late-, and beginning-career assessment professionals and be especially helpful for those who feel isolated but are interested in continuing to pursue scholarly work.
