For more information, visit AEFIS Academy. Lightning Talks are short, targeted presentations that provide insight into best practices, challenges, and successes in assessment. Listen in as some of the greatest minds and thought leaders share authentic assessment processes, continuous improvement stories, and innovative approaches toward lifelong learning and student success.

Institutions are keenly engaged in instructional improvement and planning aimed at providing clear goals to move their institutions ahead in their quest for effectiveness in teaching and learning. Yet, when it comes to preparing self-studies for program review or accreditation, many colleges and universities struggle to understand precisely what is being asked for by accreditors. Institutional leaders and authors, Dr. Jane Marie Souza and Dr. Tara Rose, synthesizes the answers to these questions and answers from 24 institutions across the United States, Australia, and Guam suggested specifically by their accreditation agency because of their effective assessment approaches and contributions to assessment literature. This session will provide you with an overview of their journey toward the publication of their new book, Exemplars of Assessment in Higher Education: Diverse Approaches to Addressing Accreditation Standards unpacking key elements, best practices examples, and future opportunities to adapt these models and strategies at your institution.
