Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education
In order to best serve our graduate student members, the Graduate Students Community of Practice will be co-facilitated by both an experienced higher education assessment professional, Dr. Robin Anderson, and a graduate student whose discipline is assessment in higher education, Kimberly R. Marsh, M.A.
Dr. Anderson is the Academic Unit Head for the Department of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University where she teaches Assessment Consultation and Performance Assessment in the University’s Assessment and Measurement Ph.D. program. She also serves as Program Director for JMU’s Higher Education Specialist Online Graduate Certificate program. Her research examines issues of validity in higher education assessment. Previously, Dr. Anderson served as the Associate Director of JMU’s Center for Assessment and Research Studies and spent six-years as an assessment professional within the Virginia Community College System.
Kimberly Marsh is a second-year doctoral student in the Assessment & Measurement program at James Madison University. She currently serves as an assessment consultant for General Education programming, aids in the coordination of an institution-wide Assessment Day, and previously served as an academic program assessment consultant in the Program Assessment Support Service office housed in the JMU Center for Assessment and Research Studies. Her research interests include: instrument development and validation, and the role of student attitudes on the validity of institutional accountability test scores.
