The word "accreditation" often elicits a grimace when mentioned on campuses. It can be associated with countless hours spent retrieving information that has been forgotten or was stored on files that have been forgotten. It is not unusual for institutions to reflect on all the required standards only when an accreditation event is imminent. However, there is another way. This presentation will share a strategy designed to collect key initiatives that hold real meaning to your institution and create an evidence-rich log of reportable events. As the log grows, the institutional story of continuous improvement unfolds. Then when an accreditation event is pending, time can be spent analyzing the data collected to craft the institutional story, rather than searching for information. Perhaps, more importantly, this strategy establishes the process of documenting initiatives as a routine occurrence for the benefit of the institution, rather than strictly for an accreditation event. The technical tool employed for this webinar will be Microsoft SharePoint, a program that is readily available on most campuses. participants will be walked through the process of developing the site and asked to reflect on the key elements appropriate to document for their own campuses.
